Notes | Originally conceived as a Tommy Cooper-style one-person/multi-part sketch in late 1976, but not developed beyond rough ideas. When mentioned at a group script ideas session on 2/Feb/1977, Chris Mapp said he'd considered something similar, with the few lines he'd written ending with some mention of War and Peace. Lawson ran with that idea and wrote the first half of the script shortly afterwards. However, it was the acute script shortage prior to Nuns and Lovers which finally prompted the sketch's completion, in October 77. Tim's performance was key to the sketch's success and its longevity, appearing as it did in several subsequent LURG/KTS productions. |
